The SYNERGY Events hosted a stunning fashion exhibit, ‘The World Fashion Gallery,’ on May 3rd, 2008 at Audrey Café and Lounge at W New York – The Tuscany located on 39th street and Lexington Avenue, New York between 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The event was designed to be a fusion of upscale fashion, fine ambiance, visual arts and tantalizing music, delivered as many called it an one-of-a-kind social networking party for Manhattan’s fashion forward progressive Muslim elites.

Artists displayed global influences from countries such as Morocco, Afghanistan and Pakistan, reflected the melting pot of the fashion capital of the world. The presenting designers unveiled their work in a gallery style exhibit are listed as follows:

New York based designer Alia Khan, who has been named the “Versace” of India, was among the participant designers at the show. Miss Khan’s signature touch included blending a spectrum of vibrant colors, rich textures and embellishments.

Afghan American designer Samira Atash is widely known for her ability to mix the best of the East with the West. Her style reflects a classical yet contemporary look for the modern woman. Tribal embroideries that reflect the designer’s Afghan heritage add a distinctive international flavor to her creations.

Nime Jamal’s creations included Evening Gowns that were outstanding and sophisticated. Miss Jamal’s work has been a favorite among beauty queens, brides and discerning fashionistas.

The clothing line for Nime was complemented by exquisite fashion accessories crafted by Moroccan designer, Hassan Bounkit. The Bounkit line which draws inspirations from Victorian, South Asian and Mediterranean color themes has created a buzz around the Big Apple. Bounkit’s clientele includes Oprah Winfrey, Super Model Iman, Blaine Trump and VIPs throughout the Middle East.

Other entertainments included a live flute performance during the fashion exhibit and a live vocal performance by Fahad Ahmed. Various media such as iTV and Sahara One covered the event. A portion of the proceeds from ‘The World Fashion Gallery’ went towards UNICEF, to help children all over the world.
